Do I Need a Special Exam for Contacts?

Contact lens prescriptions are different from glasses prescriptions, requiring a specialized exam to find the right fit, comfort, and prescription for you. During your contact lens exam with us, we’ll evaluate your eye health and shape in precise detail, and discuss your lifestyle and overall wellness to recommend lenses that make sense for your life.

If you have concerns such as dry eye, keratoconus, or other corneal conditions, don’t worry—we’ve got you covered with scleral lenses, hybrid lenses, and other options.

Personalized Contact Lens Options Selected for Your Life

Contact lenses are not one-size-fits-all. It’s important that we select the right lens material, design, and prescription for each of your eyes. Our team is experienced in fitting contact lenses for a wide range of prescriptions, whatever your needs.

You don’t need to know what type of contact lens is right for you before you come in. We can guide you through the options that best match your needs.

Overnight CRT (Ortho-k) for Nearsighted Adults

Overnight CRT lenses, also known as orthokeratology or ortho-k, gently reshape your corneas while you sleep, providing clear, glasses-free vision throughout the day.

These lenses are a non-surgical option for nearsighted adults who want freedom from traditional contact lenses or glasses. Our patients who swim especially love how convenient they are!

Ortho-k is also available for our young patients who need myopia management. Learn about how myopia management can help protect your child’s vision.

Scleral lenses are designed to manage conditions such as dry eye, keratoconus, and other corneal issues. They’re larger and more rigid than the soft contacts you may be most familiar with. Their design can protect the eye’s surface from wind and dust that can worsen dry eye, while providing clearer vision for those with irregular corneas.

The unique curve of an eye with astigmatism can make fitting contact lenses a bit trickier. But our team is skilled at getting the right fit. Toric contact lenses are engineered to sit on your cornea in a precise position to deliver crisp vision.

If you have astigmatism and your vision seems to worsen frequently, please schedule an appointment with us so we can monitor any changes to your prescription and check for other potential eye concerns.

Hybrid Lenses

Hybrid lenses blend the clarity of hard lenses with the comfort of soft contacts. While we often prescribe hybrids for patients with irregular corneas, people with regular corneas may also find that they can gain clearer vision with hybrids.

Multifocal contacts are an excellent option if you need vision correction for both your distance and near vision. It’s normal for your near vision to change in your 40s due to presbyopia, but you don’t have to give up wearing contacts. Multifocals can provide seamless vision at both near and far distances.

Myopia management aims to slow the progression of nearsightedness in children, helping protect their long-term vision health.

MiSight 1-day contact lenses are designed not only to correct vision but also to manage myopia progression with specialized treatment zones. Similarly, CRT lenses (also known as ortho-k) gently reshape the cornea when worn during sleep, offering your child convenient and clear vision during the day while helping to control myopia progression over time.
